Why can’t I stay awake?

At Sea, International
Given the excitement of the previous few days and lack of proper sleep, it was unsurprising that we were both feeling a little on the tired side.

The Machu Picchu trip had taken its toll on us both. The late nights and early mornings had left us a little run down. I had been fighting a sore throat and Mum had started to get a cold.

The day consisted of Zumba and choir in the morning, followed by lunch, washing and an unavoidable nap on one of the lounge chairs in the afternoon – I think there may have been a couple of snores from me but I was in good company as I'm fairly sure most of the people in the vicinity were also having a siesta before trivia and bingo.

Dinner was once again a quick affair and another early night was in order.

Fun fact:
The Peruvian coast is a microclimatic region. The region is affected by the cold Humboldt Current, the El Niño Southern Oscillation, tropical latitude, and the Andes mountain range. This meant sailing today was a little on the bumpy side.
