Not as warm as it once was

At Sea, Ha'apai, Tonga
As our course now takes a southerly turn towards New Zealand, yesterday was last day of proper warmth. From here on in it's going to get steadily cooler and cooler. Hopefully it won’t be too big a shock to the system.

Due to the World Cruise Culinary Demonstration by Master Chef Commendatore Alfredo Marzi, we were restricted to Zumba Gold (aka the seated version) – I’m very good at this Zumba, I think I lack the coordination to move my arms while remaining seated, plus the routines don’t totally line up with the music.

Having had the daily dose of exercise, it was time to continue on with the days activities.

For the first time on the cruise there was a scuba divers meet and greet. Previously there had been meet and greets for car lovers, emergency service people, Probus and various other groups. I figured with the cancellation of my diving tour in Bonaire, there weren’t many divers on board. I was right, at least going off the number of people who turned up for the meet and greet – three including me. It was a little disappointing; however I had a lovely chat to the other two people who turned up. They were from Mildura and were part of a Mildura club – I had no idea that Mildura had one. We compared dive stories and sites. They were quite lovely, I even managed to score an invite to their club night if I’m ever in the area.

The rest of the day was fairly relaxing – watched The Queen outside in the weak sunshine while eating lunch and generally sitting around watching the ocean go past.

The evening was interesting. After the Glynn Nicholas saga, I decided to give the evening entertainment another chance. Tonight it was a woman billed as a comedy vocalist and show was about blondes through the ages. She was a good vocalist, however the comedy aspect was mainly blonde jokes and 'the ages’ ended in the 1970s. It was entertaining but it wasn’t second viewing worthy.

Mum however had better luck with her evening entertainment. There is a fellow on board who has done a couple of shows. His name is Roland Storm and he billed as an instrumentalist. Everyone who has seen him raves about him and Mum is no different. After she has seen his show, all I hear is about how good he was and how knowledgeable he is. From what I gather he has played with quite a few of music’s big names and would be good to see in a proper concert.

Fun fact:
The land area of Asia is larger than the land area of the moon – 44.6 million square kilometres to vs. 37 million square kilometres.
