Bentota, Sri Lanka
Well, it's our last day in Sri Lanka this afternoon we move on. Having packed all the luggage there was time for a final walk around to check the sea s still blue and the sand still white and that the pool still looked inviting. A very pleasant lunch at Chatters Bar brought the time to a very pleasant end. Soon we were in travel gear and being whisked off to the airport for our flights; first to Kuala Lumpur and the on to Sydney.
Traveling down to Colombo was as chaotic as any other journey through Sri Lanka: crazy traffic, use streets and the lush green jungle we've got used to over the last few weeks.
It got more and more busy as we reached the outskirts of the city and now there were adverts for more western products; Coca-Cola, KFC and Pizza Hut made an appearances amongst the local eatery signs. Strange. Colombo airport was manic people and cars everywhere. Added to because the authorities are asking travellers to arrive 5 hours before a flight. Madness!
We said or goodbyes to Abey, he was off home we were plunged into the chaos of the airport. Bags were X-rayed twice and then we had to go through two scanners. Finally were were through with plenty of time to spare: 6 hours to be exact!!! At least I managed to finish my book. Our flight out to Kuala Lumpur at least left on time and after a so so,meal it was time to grab a few hours sleep before we change flights.
