The Great Ocean Road: day 4

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia
Robe to Adelaide.
On the move again this morning, so after a good breakfast, provided by the proprietor and cooked by us, we set off again .
Again there were long straight roads with signs promising kangaroos but there were none to be seen. The route took us through the Coorong National Park, which seemed to be mostly bush and then through more open farmland, where cattle and sheep grazed in the fields.
Morning tea was taken at a rather unusual road house, which sold everything for those wanting to go hunting, shooting or fishing as well as baked beans, ice cream, coffee and various burgers as well as beer, wine and creamed coconut!,
The coffee was very good and the young lady looking after the place was delightful. It was an unusual but very pleasant experience.
We travelled on, stopping an Informative walk, which wasn't very informative, to see some pelicans that were so far away and therefore so small they looked like tiny dots. But the weather was lovely so it didn't matter much.
Traveling on it was soon time for lunch so we stopped by the river at Meningle, which was a very pretty spot.
Our last stop of the journey was to be at Murray Bridge, where we saw the first ever bridge across the Murray River. In the park along the river there were several white parrots squaring and flying around: fun to watch for a time.
Time to move on taking the long steep winding path down into Adelaide and the end of our Great Ocean Road experience.
Our 'home' for the next few days will be the Oaks Embassy Hotel.
