All on our own and moving northwards.

Cervantes, Western Australia, Australia
To day Laurie and Mike are travelling back to HK as they prepare to return to the UK. For us it's moving on time, moving north to the coastal resorts and we hope some lovely beaches.
First stop this morning was Mandurah, for a last coffee with travel companions of the last two months . Where has the time gone? We found a lovely cafe on the lake and enjoyed coffee and churros before going our separate ways. Still we'll see them again in a couple of weeks time.
We travelled around the beautiful city of Perth and were able to enjoys its magnificent skyline one last time. Hope we get back here again some time.
Travelling north we managed to avoid much of the new road building projects so it was fairly easy going. Passed the Yanchep NP, no sign of the koalas and Kangaroos there today!
We soon found that we were again in the middle of empty space, little traffic, just trees, bushes and scrub. Signs kept promising kangaroos, emus and echidna but we saw none of these. Not fair! Strangely we were driving along the Indian Ocean Highway but we got only rare glimpses of the sea, as the geography changed and we were suddenly able to see great expanses of sand dunes; no wonder sand boarding is a popular activity on the coast.
Eventually we arrived at our 'home' for tonight the Pinnacles Holiday Park. Quite a nice place not far from the beach. Exploring the area we managed to walk along the beach area to Jurien Bay. Lobster fishing is an important industry, lots of large boats out in the bay. Houses seem to be quite large, some very attractively designed; most seemed to have a boat and a tractor in the driveway! For the boat? Apart from that it seems quite a strange place.
Still, we move on again tomorrow.
