My Winter trip to Cyprus ....

Larnaca, CyprusChristmas holidays are over and the New Year's Eve finds me in bed with flu. I cannot wait until I recover completely, get my bags and travel again. My last trip to Cyprus was last June and I did not return to Cyprus as I usually do in October because Yianni had his knee operation then. I have not only missed everyone -Mum, Sis, relatives and friends but my country as well.
Days go by and I get better and better, -we have a friends’ gathering for lunch at home and I am excited that my trip is in 3 days. As always I try to pack clothes that won’t need ironing and which I can wash while on the trip. They should be light, smart and comfortable at the same time. I am so excited about this trip that I have the bags ready 3 days earlier, something that I have never done before. You see, no matter how much I love traveling, I hate packing. The bags are ready but of course there are times that I take out one or two things and others when I add something. I hate when I have to carry along boots, a jacket and a coat and I try to have them on instead of carrying them.
My Cyprus Airways e ticket is purchased 2 months earlier and it cost me less than 100 euros. I was curious though to see how much the same ticket would cost me today. I always check this out a couple of days before the flight and if I find that it costs more this makes me feel happy. Well, if I had to purchase the ticket these days it would have cost me 197 euros, so with this in mind I know that I have already saved 100 euros because I only bought my ticket for 97 euros. ( a two way ticket plus taxes)
I am at the Gate showing my identity card but an inner thought keeps turning in my mind. I am thinking of extending my stay for a few more days so I am soon at another Gate settling the new date of flying back.
The extra cost is 30 euros and this will give me the opportunity to get to the mountains as well.
The flight is for 8:10 a.m, arriving 9:55 a.m so I have the whole day to myself to be with my family. The Airport is just a 10 minutes drive from home and my sister as always kindly offers to pick me up from the airport.
