UP THE HILL OF THE ACROPOLIS

After the visit to the Museum, I decide to go up the hill of the Acropolis, to the Parthenon .

I have the day to myself and I am in the mood of taking many photos as well.

I come to the entrance gate which is a few metres from the Museum.

FEE - 12 EUROS

I am given 4 tickets (in one) actually, and was told that I could come tomorrow as well.

It is impossible to visit so many places in just a day, and told them that I don't live in Athens and asked whether I could use the ticket on another day.

The answer was that I can have the tickets for 4 months, and visit the rest of the sites, any time I wanted in these 4 months.

I leave the entrance, and head for the top of the hill .

The view of Athens and Piraeus, even the Island of

Aegina are superb.

The hill is not so steep, and there are also stairs to help climbing, however a hat and a bottle of water are a must. The sun is burning and it is better climbing up there in the morning, wearing light clothes.

It is better not to wear black at all!

There are many tourists who are taking photos on the way, but were also parents carrying their poor children without a hat. I felt sorry for them

The view from up the hill is superb. It is a clear day, and the sky is blue. What more could I need!
