Saturday the 26th



THE FESTIVAL DAY





After the festival was over, we were taken to a tavern for dinner .

There we had the opportunity to see an old dear friend of ours –Nico and his new wife.

The last time we had seen this dear friend of ours were at least 10 even more years, and we were all anxiously waiting to meet again. He came with his wife-whose name I forget right now, and joined us for dinner.



We had a round table all to ourselves, and all friends sat together. When our children were young, and we were young as well, - a time when the choir did not exist then, we used to have –music gatherings. Each week in a different friend's house. Nico used to play the guitar, and one or two friends as well, and we all sang and had fun.

Beautiful old days, but everything has changed now.

Even us, have changed so much.



Nico left Evia, and lives with his new wife in Kefalonia now . He seems so calm and seems to enjoy his new life. I was pleased to see him and we all remembered the good old days when he was in Evia with us. He promised to come to Evia and see us, and we shall arrange Music nights like those days again.



If it wasn’t for Nico, the night at the tavern would have been awful. I always get stressed when I go to taverns and I am trapped there until the rest of the choir decides to leave. I am a very independent person and I cannot stand other people deciding on when we leave or do anything.

Unfortunately, I don’t know for what reason, nearly everyone in the room were smoking. The atmosphere was terrible, probably we were the only people not smoking in there!

It was very late almost 2 after midnight and I badly wanted to leave. I even asked to call a taxi and leave but I found out that I had to pay about 30 euros to be driven to the hotel, as the taxi would come from Argostoli, and we were in the middle of nowhere!

I was patient until 2.30 and then luckily all decided to leave!
