Warsaw, Central Poland, Poland
Highly Charming, First Class Accommodation, Perfect in Every way!
The H15 is a brilliant hotel and member of the “Design Hotels” that justly deserves its class and ranking . Considering it a gem for what it offers, it is among the top coolest hotels on my list.
If supreme standards, superb levels of comfort and top notch customer service is what you are looking for, then this is a great pick! Look nowhere else.
LOCATION: Trendy nighbourhood just a 5 minute walk from the main railway station, with walkable distance to significant highlights of Warsaw, an underground parking and close to the shopping-strip. Steps away from the hotel there are cool restaurants, little groceries and bakeries. What more could one want out of such unique location!
CHECK-IN: Smooth and swift. Familiar friendly faces and a cool drink with a friend before escorted to the suite.
STAFF/SERVICE: Trained well, the staff in general were polite and friendly making me feel like returning home, a feeling I seldom come across when I am travelling out of my country. Although almost everyone is great, Igor is more communicative, has a sense of humor and a talent of making guests feel special. As he matures he becomes more professional. The difference from last year is evident.
STORY BEHIND: Located in one of the oldest streets at the epicenter of European history, formerly a noble house (19th century) hosting secret meetings for Polish independence, later a Soviet Embassy and secret headquarters for the Nazy Party . Even though the exterior seems modern, several Art Nouveau decorative symbols had been replaced to original designs and symbols from the Soviet Union Embassy like the Soviet Union Globe, the red star, hammer and sickle. These are still visible even today and I came across several such while having a short tour in different spots of this impressive building which was one of very few that remained untouched during the war.
Eerily modern nowadays, shows that beauty can be wrought from a painful past!
Recent renovations include modern touch and vibrant art work, but at the same time the building retains ornamentation from the Soviet days which have turned it to a glorious example of contemporary luxury, -a stunning example of past-meets-present!
ATMOSPHERE: Soothing and relaxing representing the best taste of modern Warsaw atmosphere. Tastefully decorated with an arty vibe and with lots of character . The forefront and exterior are amazingly beautiful, but instantly after leaving behind the humble reception you get the wow factor with every few steps as you make your way to the interior.
LOBBY: The expertly black and white checkered glass covered patio with the vaulted ceiling is designed with great sense of style and is a lovely hang out spot. Out here guests can enjoy live unpretentious piano music played by young and talented Kacper Waśkiewicz. The entire space on the ground floor oozes a boutique-cool charm.
It also serves as a venue for cultural events. While I was here, there was a sculpture exhibition reminder of the erstwhile Communist regime with more exhibits in the gallery, housed on the ground floor of the hotel.
Naturally lit as it is, it is also the place where guests enjoy their breakfasts each morning, have their business meetings or simply relax over a cup of coffee .
ROOM: Home away from home!
The immaculate suite D42 was edgy, comfortable and elegant and it overlooked the courtyard. Spacious and extremely functional, truly could not be better.
I don't intend to refer in detail as photos can show everything so in short, the suite had exactly the required comfort to meet needs of extremely demanding guests.
You cannot fault anything out here as everything has been planned in the least detail for the comfort of guests.
So much light coming in the beautiful apartment that was furnished with Italian designed furniture. Air conditioning adjusted as you wish, a working table a fast Wi Fi and uncountable other facilities.
BATHROOM: There were two, one with a bathtub by the sitting room and the other in the bedroom . The entire glass wall in this bathroom and part of the bedroom was covered in Roman blinds allowing a ton of great natural light come inside. A walk in shower cabin, fresh crispy towels, and a favourite of mine brand of toiletries –the L’Occitane for extra pampering!
BREAKFAST: Interesting variety -could be better though!
Breakfast is taken out by the chic covered patio, and offers normal/healthy options, as well as hot/cold choices.
There is a tiny open kitchen for savory omelets, waffles and pancakes.
What was truly missing, was the lack of smiling faces and a better service. I am not referring to the entire team but part of the team need extra training. PLEASE!
RESTAURANT: It is called 'Signature’ and indeed it offers signature culinary dishes of excellent quality, taste and presentation in a noble and chic interior . The staf are a bunch of professionals. Dining out here was memorable thus I am dedicating the next entry exceptionally on my dining experience.
IN ALL: I cannot speak highly enough about this marvelous hotel. If you are in Warsaw for business, for sightseeing or the weekend, here you will not be disappointed. Book and leave the rest to the people in charge. I like to feel at home even when I am away and I felt that the H15 is as personal as it gets. I felt spoilt with all the care and attention thanks to the entire team.
