Sprinkles, 36 degrees, Goslings and a Blue Bird

Lakeview, Oregon, United States
Last night we had a few sprinkles and the wind picked up so we set up our "awnings" and enjoyed an evening meal of salad with chicken chunks. In between raindrops, we spotted a bald eagle gracefully soaring over the large marsh between the campground and Juniper Lake. I got as close as I could, but was still a long way off. Later, we brought out the 23" digital TV which we bought after we started the trip. About a week ago, I bought one of those digital antennas where if you can get signal, you can check out the available networks. Honestly, we are at least 10 miles from the nearest town (Lakeview, OR) and didn't expect to be able to pull in any channels. But, bingo...we got enough reception for two channels! We were delightfully surprised. So we watched Undercover Boss about the owner of the NBA team Utah Jazz.
Today is our second night at the Juniper Lake RV and Campground . It is a very nice place, well laid out with lots of scenery to absorb. We woke up at about 5:30 just as the sun was beginning to rise over the eastern mountains in the distance. The thermometer read 36 degrees - our coldest morning yet - but the views are spectacular.
We made our coffee, then took a walk down one of the walking trails that lead out from the park. While we didn't see any big game this morning, we had a great time taking in the sights and sounds of Red Wing Blackbirds, Rock Chucks, Yellow Bellied Marmots or Ground Squirrels - I think they're all the same type of critter.
After we returned, we heated up some bagels on the grill, Dolly added cream cheese, I decided on peanut butter and jelly. Then we headed to the meeting shelter where the wifi signal is strongest, downloaded photos and checked out Facebook. While there, another camper and his wife from California gave us a lead on a campground about 15 miles south of Jackson Hole, WY our next intended destination. It supposed to get up to 80 degrees today, winds are light and we plan to check out an ancient Indian encampment site next to Juniper Lake.
Enjoy the photos from this morning!

Love ya,

Cheers!
