South Dakota - Great Places, Great Faces.

Sioux Falls, South Dakota, United States
The early morning sunlight filtered across the lush green foggy South Dakota fields across from our campsite, which made for a stunning photo to start the day. This is probably our last night of camping as we will be with kids/grandkids and my sister for the remainder of the trip.
The short one-hour drive to Sioux Falls was easy and brought back memories of trips across this same route hundreds of times in past years .
Upon pulling into Sioux Falls, we left Interstate 90 and turned onto Interstate 29, then turned onto I-229 before taking the Louise exit. Even without the GPS, it was just a few blocks before we pulled up to John and Dani's home on Crane Ave.
Over the course of the next few days, we ate often, thoroughly enjoyed Hailee's softball tournament (they took first place) and even got to see Tanner play Legion Baseball in Dell Rapids!
We were somewhat concerned about how our tiny chihuahua would get along with Maddox, that is the Sioux Falls Griesenbrock's dog which is 10 times bigger than her. Actually, not too bad. For the most part (after letting Maddox know she wasn't interested in fun and games) she stayed pretty much to herself and maintained her rock solid stance of protecting us from anyone and anything. Poor Dani, received most of her growls, probably because Chi Chi was there before Dani got home from work the first afternoon.
Dolly took a couple of hours for herself and visited Victorias Secret in the mall, as I had promised her a trip there to buy a decent bra. Since I wasn't invited into the back rooms, she was measured, fitted and set up with (for the first time) with the right size. I won't go into specific detail here, but let's just say she was squeezing them into something much too small.
I made two visits with friends in Sioux Falls, Peter Hauff and Slim Houser. It was great seeing them both - Peter is an avid photographer, originally from Brookings, and Slim was a long-time friend while in the South Dakota Army National Guard when I was stationed in Pierre and Rapid City.
