Daly Waters, Northern Territory, Australia
Seems to be the normal routine now. Woke at 6 am had brekkie
and left Tennant Creek about 8 .30. Filled up for fuel and the guy asked me if I
had a library card in Tennant Creek. With much winking and nodding of his head
I said YES. Saves 4c per/L on the fuel. We arrived at Daly Waters about 1.30
and booked into the caravan park. This is a managed park and you are assigned
to a site. Stacked in like sardines already. Locals say the season is starting
earlier the past few years. Last time we were here in 2013 it was spot the
vans. Sunny day with a hot wind, must be about 34 -36c here. Don’t really know
as we don’t have TV reception. Had tea at the pub, very good meal and they have
some live music. Everything is over by 8pm.

The next morning we decided to go for a walk. Bloody hell it
was hot. Tried to follow the heritage trail but it was a bit confusing. Saw
some local sights. The old WW2 airfield and the post office and police station
with lock up cells. Jen and Nat had a dip in the pool while David and I had
some quality time with our IPads. Later we went to the pub for pre-dinner
drinks then back to the camp for BBQ Tea. In bed again about 9pm. Yep that
seems to be the norm also. Lots to pack up in the morning as we are going to
Mataranka tomorrow. Long day driving 168km!!!
