Up early again, got picked up at the roadside by the unit.We all gathered together the where the drivers informed us that we were going up the Escarpment to see another area. This would cost another $20.00 but everyone went anyway.
So we went climbing to a great height in the safari trucks over a one-way track ,when we came out of the top plateau we were actually higher than the Tee of the Extreme Gold mentioned previously .
There seemed to be little wild life up there but the view was great looking over the Entebine plain.
The air was sort of smokey and the guides said that was because of the coming rainy season.
They showed us were the Elephants would pass through a gape in the hills to migrate when they were sick of the place they were in.
Back for breakfast approx 9:30 am where afterwards several us decided to play a 10 hole par 3 golf course designed on the best par three holes from around the world. even the Island hole at Augusta was there .
Luckily we played Ambros and my golfing partner managed to get onto the island and I managed a 35 foot putt, much to every ones delight. Once we got organized we went off in 3's John ,Sherri and myself together .Just outside the door we were fronted by 2-3 porters as they called themselves wanting to carry our clubs which at that time were not very heavy but got heavier as the round went on. The heat was stifling it reached 38 degrees in the shade. We took water along but by the time we were halfway around it was boiling in the black golf bags.
On getting back to the club house we were told that there was no ice and the cold beer run out far too soon.I used their showers to try and revive myself. From there we went back to our units were I had to have a granny nap.
After a nap we went out on safari again that evening, finally getting up close to a male lion, along with his family.I thought I would go over and introduce my self as a lion member from NZ but the guide thought it better not to !!
Coming back to the complex we had a group dinner at night in an open air type of hut, once again joining up with the couple from Blenheim for a enjoyable evening afterwords I went back to my unit for a quiet evening but the TV was on the blink and the reception said the technician was 50 km away !!
