6 am start. Standing on the side of the road waiting to be picked up for our first look around the park ,nice clear morning, we were picked up by a Toyota 4 wheel drive with open sides and seating 10 people plus driver. We were told to always catch the same vechical each time so we would always have the same guide ,These drives were for approx three hours morning and evening, the tracks were most definitely not tar-sealed roads it was bumpy which did not suit my bruised tail bone
We saw more Wilder Beasts than anything else.Several Giraffes grazing the tree tops.we surprised a Rhinoceros. Came across a lioness and her two cubs by a water hole stopped for coffee out of a thermos.
Plenty of Zebras roaming the plains which this time of the year were very brown, patches of long grass and scattered trees,Came back to the complex and had a late breakfast then booked for the world famous Extreme 19th golf hole.
It is the world’s longest and highest Par 3, providing every golfer with an unforgettable golfing experience. Accessible only by helicopter, the tee is situated atop Hanglip Mountain
with a 361 metres shot to the green, located 400 breath-taking metres below the tee. There is nothing like it anywhere else on planet golf! The heat up there was extreme as well, no water .
We were given 6 golf balls to hit off the tee if the first five did not reach the fairway we took the sixth done to the drop zone and chipped onto the green ,Out of the 22 of us only two managed to hit the fairway.
We were taken by helicopter down to the green which was shaped like South Africa were I managed to chip and putt to give me a 12 ,which I got a certificate for that John managed a five I think his second ball from the tee making the fairway. Then we were taken back to the complex for lunch were it was a help your self .
Being so far from the main complex we had to get a shuttle to and fro to the units which meant the charging of batteries for the phone, Ipad and camera sometimes got missed.
Later in the evening we went out again for another 3 hour drive seeing Elephants in the trees. It was easy to find them as the smaller trees had been pushed down by them.
Could see several Hippopotamus in the water
Found some Wart Hogs digging on the plains.Had a coffee /beer break halfway through the trip.By the time we started to come back it was dark ,did spot lighting but only saw Wilder beasts and some rabbits.
Arrived back at the main complex for dinner which was smorgasbord so made sure I had enough.
Took back to the unit a 6 pack of Castle Beer to put into the fridge.
