Petrinja Croatia, where we feel so comfortable!

Well the first 9 days of the trip is going great . Loved Prague and Czech Republic, Loved Vienna Austria and of course we love Croatia. Sure hope the next 23 days SLOW down!

Travel has gone well. Bus ride from Prague to Vienna and then Vienna to Zagreb. Always adventures at the border crossings. Off the bus, get checked, back on the bus....no off again....take our passports, give them back....on the bus again and off we go!

All is well with us during our stay here in Croatia. We are in Petrinja visiting my cousins, The Gorupic' Family, and have been busy visiting friends and family and as usual this includes eating lots and drinking lots of alcohol. We have even been served STRONG varieties of alcohol first thing in the morning. I believe the lack of communication makes all of these wonderful people just want to feed us and smile at us. Our most often used words are Na Hvala (no thank you) usually followed by lots of Na Na Na Na's!!!! to get the point across . 

I am attaching photos from our day today. Wanted you to see my cousin Katica' taken at her farm then Mike and I at "my" farm in the village Nebojan in front of the barn that has stood since my great-grandpa Blaz and my grandpa Ignac Gorupic' farmed here. 

Always amazing is the land mine warning signs all over this beautiful country side (so sad) which are right next to many plowed farm fields and also war damaged homes. This photo of a pile of rubble was the home on a corner where cousin Marijan, Barica and Ivana lived until they fled due to the war. The town will forever be damaged as you can see by the photos. But people seem to be happy here and we so love our visits to this country.

We are saying yet another good-bye on Tuesday 4/10 and promising to be back in two years as we always do. We will leave on a bus out of Zagreb and our next destination will be the Croatian Island Cres in the Adriatic Sea. From there........no idea????
