We rejoined the Busabout Circuit from Prague . It had been a great break away doing our own thing through Poland and in Prague but we were ready for fellow travellers again and we had heard only good things about our next destination the historic Cesky Krumlov.

A fairytale castle, medieval townscape and a hostel to stay in that in another life had been a leprosarium, - what could be better?
  
Our hostel was very basic. We were in an 8 bed dormitory which meant we didn't get much sleep, but we made lots of friends. The hostel was overloaded with Australians! We even met up with a girl whose sister lives in Dongara. 

We walked the streets taking in all this gorgeous walled city had on offer marveling how less busy it was than Prague. We spent ages exploring the castle and its grounds.The weather was quite cold but clear.

Prices were fairly reasonable and particularly for wine.We were paying the equivalent of $2 for a good bottle of red wine. Others at the hostel were drinking beer until we told them how little our wine cost. There was an urgent run on the wine shop before it closed then!   
    
On our 2nd night we had a wood BBQ and enjoyed the feeling of being a little bit like home. The BBQ was not actually planned, We had asked about lighting the fire (it was very cold) so we could drink outside, but were told the wood was only for BBQ's. So Avan and another guy raced down to the supermarket as it was closing, to get some cheap snags and to do a wine shop run for those enjoying the red wine.
