With some six hours to kill before our 20 hour overnight bus to Puerto Iguazu, the amazing and famous waterfalls in the North of Argentina, we stored our packs at the ferry terminal and set off on foot to see some of the sights we had missed, when in Buenos Aires earlier in the week .

Firstly we found Luna Park. This intrigued us given Australia has a Luna Park, but this one is quite different – it is a sport and shows stadium (not a fun park) – a very famous one, as it was where THE Evita Peron, first met her husband.

Then it was on to Puerto Madero, a docklands area of Buenos Aires that has been re birthed with walkways, canals and trendy apartments and restaurants.   

Lastly we entered the totally different world of the Reserva Ecologica Costanera Sur. So close to the inner city, but a world of peaceful gardens, swamps, bird hides and natural jungle with walking paths (a sort of Kings Park) and no charge. We saw wonderful flora and fauna, but hardly any people at all enjoying the park. The trails are well marked and we walked for some four to five kms through the park, ending back near where we had to collect our luggage and proceed to the bus station for our overnight bus.
