Let's Go Round Again!

The lady in Trailfinders didn't bat an eyelid when we asked for a five month round the world ticket leaving in five days, so we picked some dates and let some destinations be dictated by flight schedules. This and the plan to see New Zealand again gives the following schedule for the Bogus Journey (being, of course, the sequel to the Excellent Adventure which we did earlier in the year).

Departing Nov 3: 3 days San Francisco, two weeks in the Hawaiian islands, one week on Fiji, into Auckland and straight down to Christchurch arriving on Nov 28. On 12 February we leave Auckland for Sydney, stay a week, then go to Perth for three weeks and home via four days in Hong Kong; back 16th March.

So this gives two great bridges, three great harbours/bays, a return to the Fijian bungalow 10 metres from the sea and lots more of the delights of New Zealand, probably in Bluesmobile II. There should be lots of new wonders as well as an unparalleled second chance to see some of the things that we loved last time. Mustn't grumble... We are also going to get our first warm Christmas!

Sadly we didn't get to see all the people we wanted to meet this time - we hope you'll keep in touch as we do like to hear from you. Huge thank yous as ever to both families, Su and John, Andy and Fiona, and a special mention to Emily who has developed quite an interest in inflatable globes and a talent for muddy rainy walks, just like Uncle Andrew. Our 93 millionth scale world is of course coming with on its second circumnavigation, along with the Swiss Army knife, the IBRSC radio, the universal plug, my new Goretex walking boots (guaranteed New Zealand proof) and about 20kg of other items. Must remember the passport.

let the Bogus Journey begin!
