Staniel Cay, Black Point, Bahamas
We had a pretty good night swinging around on the mooring ball I woke up a few times but getting used to the sound of the waves gurgling away. Woke up to another beautiful sunrise and I'm blogging sitting outside on our wonderful back deck (cockpit) area sitting my decaf...ahh. We purchased a Starbucks Pod coffee maker it is amazing so although we are ruffing it we are not really hehe. It's like camping on the water in a gorgeous motor home.

So what's in store for today, we are here all day because of the wind but I'm happy to be here . Sunny all day today! We will snorkel Thunderball again and try and time it right at low tide we can get right into the main cave area. There is not real beach area for tanning in this protected bay we are surrounded by small rock islands which is protecting us...a good thing! We will walk into the local grocery store to get some provisions we are out of most things, our plan is to have a later lunch at the pub and then have a light dinner on the boat.

The morning unfolded as planned, groceries, lunch at the SCYC Pub which I have to say was amazing best salad I've had on the trip! On our walk to the grocery Pink Lady Market we noticed a large school of Nurse sharks and a Stingray near the shore and 2 young children were in the water playing with them...oh man I wouldn't go in and play with them. The parent was there and they are very tame sharks but still a bit risky. We snorkeled the Thunderball Rock again but there were loads of tourists so it wasn't as nice navigating around them it must be spring break ...but it was still great to see all the fish and coral and we swam right through the cave this time it was low tide that was cool. After our snorkel we decided to move around the corner to Big Major home of the swimming pigs (we saw a couple of pigs) and anchor there tonight. Us and over 30 others had the same thought this bay is packed full of sailors and yachters of all sizes...again it must be Spring Break for many. We went on a dingy exploration mission looking for more coral to snorkel we found one spot which was pretty good lots of fish not as much coral but Bryan did see a rare sea anenome which is not as common in the Bahamas. From there we went past a lovely private Island resort Fowl Cay a 5+ star place and you too can enjoy this super all inclusive for $15k to $20K + a week...yikes! You can book into their restaurant for dinner if you like, perhaps next year that could be a fancy night out. We found a beautiful small private beach so we went a shore for a bit of break, next year we will have to come back with a picnic . Back to the boat to de-salt and bring the dingy in, we are getting much better and pulling it in.

We are sitting in the cockpit enjoying a rest and sunset time, all this swimming and snorkeling tires Nellie out! Oh I forgot to mention that I did a fairly good workout this morning in the cockpit, I used the tool box as a free weight and I used the scuba weight belts to add extra weight, practiced my Olympic Lifting patterning so that was cool.

We will eat on the boat again tonight tomorrow night we will be eating at Highbourne Cay's restaurant I must try their famous beet salad :-)

The moon is getting fuller on the 5th it will be our second full moon at sea ahhh. The winds are gusting tonight so we let out some more line, the skipper gave me a lesson on why you need more line when anchoring. Everyday there is something to learn.

A recap of what we saw today, lots of fish and coral, nurse sharks, stingray. The coolest fish for me today was the Rainbow Parrot fish, queen angel fish, and the juvenile blue tang which are yellow.

Until tomorrow
