Marsh Harbour, Out Islands, Bahamas
Good morning from Man O War Cay

Yup I'm up early as per normal we had a good anchorage but it's windy so I gave up on the swinging around and waves but still managed a good sleep up at 6:40 just in time for another great sunrise .

Although it is a really windy day we are fine here and very protected nestled into the many Cay's in the Abacos, these small Islands are all really close together so this cuts the wind and waves nicely. Unfortunately most of the really great reefs for diving are on the open ocean side so that won't be happening today. We have a very short less than 10 miles to go today to get to Marsh Harbour the plan is to arrive around lunch so lots of time for a very lazy morning.

Man O War Cay is a very small Island only a few miles long it is know for it's quiet village the people here are apparently very religious and don't take kindly to loud or party boaters. There is one small hotel and approximately 300 people, it's a perfect spot to anchor and enjoy the sites from the water. I just love sitting outside blogging in the peace and quiet listening to the waves as they gently hit the boat it's definitely something I will miss when I leave .

So off to Marsh Harbour which is on the Great Abaco Island. Marsh Harbour is a town in Abaco Islands, Bahamas, with a population of 5,314...a big place from what we are used to. We are staying at the Conch Inn and Marina, it is one of Marsh Harbours premier marina's. Located within easy reach of provisioning, restaurants and local amenities. We need to provision and the boys need to fill the scuba tanks with air. We'll explore the town and eat out tonight. John leaves from here on the 18th so the general plan depending on whether is to stay tonight then off to visit some of the other Cays for scuba sites and then back to Marsh Habour on the 17th.

Wow a very windy day even in the protected Islands you could feel it but we don't have far to go. I went for a paddle board that was a challenge in the wind but a fun workout, while I was out I saw a turtle so back to the boat for my snorkel stuff. I went for a nice long snorkel searching for my turtle but no luck I did see a few fish but there wasn't much coral around where there is coral there are fish . I desalted and got dressed and off we went to Marsh Harbour, we were hoping to find a dive / snorkel site before we went to marina but no such luck couldn't find it so we decided to just go into shore. This marina is very nice, fixed docks but lots of help with that. This is a very big place really spread out so you need a taxi or rent a car if you are here for a while. We stocked up on provisioning and took the tanks in to be filled at the local dive store. I went for a walk to do some shopping or shall I say tourist browsing a few nice things. I found a gym so I might go there tomorrow we will see what the plans are.

We had drinks at the marina bar Curly's and ate in their restaurant a really nice meal, I liked the bar better higher up and we had a really nice sunset. After dinner we walked down to Snappas a local bar really fun atmosphere and they had a live band, a group of locals and they were great, Bob Marly and new songs too pretty talented bunch.

A great day and night.
