It's an early morning for the crew of 2 as we get ready to leave this beautiful marina and make our way to Nassau. It should be a wonderful day on the water the sky is clear and the trees are barely moving so winds are low.
We hope to anchor and do some snorkleing around Little Harbour Cay, there are so many small Cay's out here and we hope to get back here again so some exploring is in order
.
We will be in the marina in plenty of time to get ready for the Green Bay game.
Go Packers Go!
I'll start with end of the day, we secured a great spot at Olives restaurant in Atlantis, they have a small number of bar seats with 2 TV's Bryan and I kept switching seats as people left to find the perfect spot. We ordered a drink and some Olives we were set! People came and went as the game progressed we chatted and cheered with many people. It amazes me how much people bet on a sport one guy was hoping to win $5000 yikes. The outcome of the game was not to our liking but it was a great game and the'll win it all next year! The food was very good an assortment of Italian dishes and flat breads.
The day leading up to the game was simply perfect, light winds, blue sky and sunshine it felt so great. I just love the wind in my hair, I'm sure I should tie it back to tame the insane curls but I just like it better down and embrace the insanity of it all hehe
. We cruised along the outside of the Cay's, it was interesting to see the Great Harbour Cay where we stayed from a deferent perspective. Bryan pointed out all the spots we biked, it is a fairly long Island as far as the Cay's go. We passed Great Stirrup and Little Stirrup Cay these are the Island's that the cruise ships stop at. We passed by a couple of big ones and thought how lucky we were to be in our mini ship!
We ended up in a small bay inside of Little Harbour Cay nestled between Lizard and Comfort Cay's it's a fairly protected anchorage. It was ours for a while but then another couple of boats made their way in and anchored likely taking protection from the winds and storm that is brewing. We put the dingy in which took us 10 minutes we are getting much fast at this process, I made some lunch and packed the little cooler. The plan was to dingy around and snorkel then have lunch on the beach after we walk the little Cay and explore. The snorkel experience our first one on this trip was wonderful, lots of different varieties of fish but the prize for the day was a huge Queen Trigger fish it was just stunning
. Tomorrow I have to get the GoPro working so we can capture some of this for you. The Cay was small made of gnarly rock and small shrubs and trees and lots of beautiful sand. We enjoyed our picnic and the skipper made his way back to the boat, I decided to swim and do some more snorkeling, I was searching for a turtle which Bryan saw as we started our dingy ride but I never did find him. Back at the boat Bryan went diving to clean the props, we paid someone to do this while in Ft. Lauderdale but of course they just didn't do it and it makes a big difference to have them clean if you want to ride fast which we like to do at times. That is the beauty of El Nido we can cruise slow and if the weather is cooperating we can go fast :-) That took him about an 1 1/2 hours and I just enjoyed the sunshine. Other things we saw were a huge sting ray it was just hanging out under the boat, a very large flying fish, butterflies and sea birds.
The trip from there over to Nassau was perfect as well calm waters and we went fast made it in 1 1/2 you don't often get such calm water so we took advantage of that and also it was a good test for the newly cleaned props.
Pictures will be loaded later because the Internet here is really poor, I've said this many times but I'll say it again the more you pay the less you get at resorts with Internet. The IT person is going to sort us out tomorrow they need to add our MAC address to their servers but this is the Bahama's so things happen when they happen :-)
For some reason the site won't let me reply to comments unless they are on photo's...so here is my comment back to you Marjorie
