Moving to Palm Cay

New Providence Island, Bahamas
Good Morning

Another blustery day here on Paradise Island but we are still going to move the boat around to Palm Cay http://www .palmcay.com/ the route is very protected and it's not far which is a good thing. I see this morning that most of the cruise ships have left the harbour they were lined up yesterday avoiding the storm.

We have a plumber coming this morning to check out pumper of the dumper it does not appear to be working as it should which of course can be a very difficult situation eeek.

The plumber / electrician was very helpful and our problems are solved! Very interesting guy he is a native of Long Island but went back to Nassau after the recent hurricane to make some money. His dream is to run an echoadventure company and rent out cottages on Long Island, we will give him a shout before we get there for tips and guide names. We were off the docks around 2 and enjoyed a nice easy cruise over to Palm Cay. The entrance to the marina is flagged by many markers they have dredged a lane in that you must follow the shallow waters of the Bahama's really keep you on your toes .

We were delighted by the marina it's 3 years old and they have done a very nice job. A deli / coffee shop is open daily and a Tiki bar which serves light food. Thursday to Sunday the main restaurant is open and Friday is Pizza and Jazz night. The small beach is lovely with many comfy lounge chairs and water toys, all we really need now is some sunshine and heat which unfortunately I don't think we will see while we are here...oh well it's still lovely. They have a free car which you can use for 2 hours per day we have that booked for tomorrow and also for Thursday to pick up Marjorie and Craig. The have cruiser bikes for you to use so we will likely enjoy a ride at some point, no gym on the property but apparently one is close by so we will look into that tomorrow.

Now last comment on the Marina is the Internet it is painfully slow we can't even get our booster to boost it! I just don't understand why the Bahamian's are so backwards with their technology . They have cell towers everywhere but their Internet is greatly lacking, a few repeaters to boost the signal is all that is needed...perhaps this is the way it is to get me to disconnect. It is fast if you go tot he pool / Tiki bar area there were many people there face timing and doing their business so I'll make my way over there tomorrow to upload pictures for you.

We enjoyed dinner on board a do your own thing night, Bryan blew up his sweet potato in the microwave that was fun hehe ;-)

Movie tonight was "Ant Man"

 My comment replies:
"It works if you are at a pump out station which is a good thing but we don't always have those handy...so fingers crossed this can get fixed :-) Glad you are enjoying the blog Patti soon you will be part of it! The beaches are great can't wait to get out there again."

I hope they fix your pumper on the dumper. Hehe . Sorry I know that is serious but sounds so funny. I am enjoying your entries and pics. The beaches look beautiful even in the stormy weather.
