Marsh Harbour Bahmas, Central Abaco, Bahamas
We are up early the water is calm and hope to get off the dock by 7AM. The first day of cruising is always a fun one with guests it's very much like christmas morning with all the nervous energy and excitement.

We will decide later once we are on the water whether we will head to Harbour Island or head straight through to Marsh Harbour .

+++++++++++++

The cruising day was great it was a bit bumpy once we were past the protection of New Providence Island, the swells were fairly big but not terrible and the winds were light, as we approached Eleuthera Spanish Wells we decided to make the crossing the Abacos and Marsh Harbour area. We arrived at 1:30 and decided to anchor around the corner of Sand Cay a good snorkel and dive reef. We took the dingy over to the mooring balls that they provide for the snorkelers and tied up. Marjorie decided to enjoy the calm warmth of the cockpit on El Nido so Craig, Bryan and I enjoyed a short snorkel around this reef. It was a really great experience, we saw many tropical fish, a pretty large sting ray who was settled into the mud on the bottom, the highlight was a very shy Trunkfish he was nestled in the rocks and was peaking out on occasion really cool spotted fish. I tried to take photo's of our excursion but sadly the Go Pro did not work correctly I still need to sort this out .

Once back to the boat we made our way over to Laynyard Cay and found a calm protected anchorage. We took the dingy into the beach / Island and went for a walk, this is apparently a private Island and bird sanctuary but we didn't see the birds and although there are a couple of lovely looking homes it was all but deserted. We walked across the Island on very gnarly ground made of coral it was shark and looked very much like broken vertebrae's! The waves were crashed along the the banks of the outside of the island the waves were big we are very glad to be on the inside protected side. Back on the boat we enjoyed watching a gorgeous sundeck from the cockpit then we started appy's and dinner prep. On the menu tonight was grilled zucchini / parmesan rounds with Brie and crackers the main course was vegetarian chilli accompanied by Helen's Nan's baking powder biscuits thanks Helen for the recipe they were perfect! On our way here we did attempt to catch some fresh fish but the fish were not biting our line today. Everyone one is really tired tonight it was a long day so an early bedtime for all.

We are booked in to Hope Town Marina for tomorrow so we will enjoy a lazy morning and make our way over it's only 10 miles away so an easy cruise day.

I will post photo's tomorrow once we are in a WiFi zone.

Good night all.
