Hope Town, Out Islands, Bahamas
We hope you are all having a good start to your weekend.

Our Saturday plans will take us to Dingy Beach for a snorkel and possible dive then we will move to Treasure Cay for the night . We want to show Barb and Mike the gorgeous long white sand beach there.

This might be our last day here in the Abaco it looks like the weather gods may finally had given us the opportunity to move over to the Island of Eleuthera home of Harbour Island and the Pink Sand Beach...we will see.

From there we will get Barb and Mike back to Nassau on Tuesday for their flight home and we will pick up Cindy and Rory...so fingers crossed the winds don't shift around on us.

Oh boating, it makes you very comfortable with change! So the day went like this. We cruised over to Dingy Beach for a snorkel and perhaps a dive it was a bit windy so Mike and I stayed on the bow to see how swingy the boat would be, we were just going to bring the anchor back in an move the boat to a new spot when Bryan shouted to stop! He herd a clunk, clunks are never good ...he suspected the trim tab had broke and he was right :-(

We pulled anchor and moved to a more protected spot and dropped anchor so that Bryan could dive down and really investigate the problem. He then McGiver'd a solution to hold the trim tab up so that we could limp a long and not have it rub or damage the pod drive. This workout around appears to be working and after talking to the mechanic and checking fuel levels etc. he is pretty confident that we can travel with both engines... just not fast as we can't plane without the trim tabs. It's Saturday which doesn't help because all the parts stores are closed so the mechanic will call around on Monday to see if the parts are available, we will then have to fly him in from Palm Beach to fix it. The fix doesn't take long but the boat has to be pulled out of the water to do this, we are hoping that can all happen in one day if not we will have to stay in a hotel for a night. We will know way more by mid day on Monday so until then we can enjoy the Abaco Islands some more . The work and haul out will either happen in Nassau or Marsh harbour.

It could have been much worse at least we can still cruise around 7 to 8 knts which is just fine the Abaco Cay's are all very close together. The winds are so calm the next week so that is in our favour as well.

Once we were all tucked back in at Seaspray marina, a quick desalting happened. Barb went to the pool and I cleaned up a bit on board followed by a bit of a workout. I have to say I really really miss my working out but still enjoying the sea air...the Bahama's is perfect but they need a gym here.

I made us a round of Margarita's and we enjoyed the sunset from the cockpit it was a beautiful one tonight.

It was lobster night at the Seaspray so that made the skipper very happy he enjoyed a double lobster dinner with all the trimmings, Barb and Mike did as well...I had a steak which was pretty good too. They had an out door kitchen setup with BBQ's side burners the chefs did a great job.

The fun and games crew decided we should have a few more rounds of crib so Mike and I could try and get a few wins...hehe that did not happen, I think we are down 4 games now hehe.

A trying day but ended with laughs.

Oh no!!! That is not good. I am glad to hear it isn't a serious as it could have been. You seem like you have a different boat problem with each crew. Hopefully Cindy and Rory will break that curse.

Sorry to hear about the damage! Glad to hear it isn't inhibiting the travels too much.... Good luck with the fix!
