The general plan for today is to try for that snorkel and then make our way over to Treasure Cay to show Barb and Mike the amazing beach and maybe even the beach club.
Everything closes in the Bahama's on Sundays it's very old fashioned that way, I remember as a child it was like that at home as well
. Consumerism is just not here people are kind, humble and really just amazing...it will be a culture shock to go back home.
Will update later on the days happenings....

Oh what a beautiful day, I've said that many times along this winter adventure but I'll say it again these are the days that make boating amazing. We started with a slow (we can only go slow now ;-)) cruise over to Dingy Beach which is on the NW tip of Great Guana Cay near Bakers Bay. The weather was calm and the Atlantic was very nice to us. We dingy'd into the beach so that Barb could learn how to scuba, the ride in was tense for me again I still have flash backs from my accident last year but I did it! The entry to the beach was smooth and I felt that I have overcome some of my fear.
Bryan skillfully instructed Barb on the how to's of scuba he is a great instructor. They geared up on the beach and walked into the water and went over all of the skills, Barb did a great job and they went down around 6 or so feet...her first experience at breathing under water :-)
From there we made our way to a mooring ball with the dingy, Barb and Mike snorkeled and Bryan and I dove. I put the gear on in the boat that's a first for me, and then you just sit on the side and fall in backwards...a very cool feeling and oh so easy and effortless. The dive was great lots of little caverns, lots of coral and fish life. After our dive Mike and Bryan dove and Barb and I snorkeled it was a day in the water. Mike and I swam back to the boat and we desalted. We have decided to anchor off of Great Guana in the bay near Grabbers bar, after wandering around for a bit we set anchor and tied off. The decision was to stay on board and watch the sunset from the bow of the boat so we put together an appy and the boys setup the chairs. Watching the sun slip into the ocean from the bow of your boat is I have to say one of those perfect moments in time...ahhhh.
Before the appy prep started a rather large catamaran came zipping in past the stern of the boat, he was obviously not an experienced captain as there are very shallow reefs around slow and cautious is the way you travel around here. Anyway he hit a reef, crack and smash he was up on his side! Luckily no one fell in, Bryan hopped in the dingy as others did and went over to lend a hand. As Bryan approached the Cat the captain started the engines this is a very very bad idea when you are high centered on a Rock! So lots of yelling to cut the engines and the captain did thank goodness. So there they sat perched on the reef waiting for hight tide at 2AM. As the night progressed the winds shifted slightly so our swing was putting us in a close position to them so we / well shall I say the Captain stayed up waiting for them to move he went to bed around 1:30AM as they didn't appear to be trying to move at all...crazy guys!
The evening was wonderful we enjoyed a great dinner of grilled chicken, sweet potatoes, grilled zucchini and sautéed veggies it was so delicious.
We enjoyed star gazing on the bow which was good, the lights from the bay and the sliver of a moon took away some of them but still lovely.
I'm happy to report that our engines are working great, we can't go fast as the trim tab is broken but we managed 8knts with no problem at all.
Another adventure filled day.
Will add more photo's when we get to a wifi locations.

I'm eager to hear if you had a clear, warm day for your long stroll on the beach at Treasure Cay. Also - the Beach Club looked like a perfect place to kick back and be pampered around a pool..... Did you have time for some R&R there? Thinking of you all here at the wet west coast!
