Egg Island, Spanish Wells, Bahamas
Good morning is early 5:30AM and we are almost ready to push off. Barb and Mike leave this morning we start our journey to Nassau. We will overnight at an anchorage near Spanish Wells and will meet Cindy and Rory tomorrow in Nassau.

It's been a great 11 days with the Fun and Games crew, thank you so much Mike and Barb for joining us on our Bahama's adventure ....we will miss you.

Boat Update:

The problem is the trim tab on one of the pods broke, so both pod drives work but we are not able to use the trim tabs. When you don't have the use of your trim tabs you are unable to get the boat up on a plane so there goes your ability to go fast. We are fine to plug away at 7 to 8 knots so that's a good thing. The mechanic is organized but to get this work covered under our warranty we need to move her to the states. So our plans have changed and we will be going across to Ft. Lauderdale right after Cindy and Rory leave, should be back in Canada April 1st.

A wee bit late in updating the blog we had a great day yesterday but where we anchored had limited internet and this morning I slept in...oh now that doesn't happen often :-) Our day was great the cruise over was slow but amazing filled with reading, workout, napping an almost 9 hour crossing but we were near Egg Island by 3pm . On route we decided to toss in a fishing line to hopefully catch some fresh food for dinner, Bryan decided to have a short nap and 5 minutes later the line started to run I shouted fish...Bryan was awake and up attending to the line quickly...it was a big one and then we saw it jump out of the water it was a Marlin! It was heavy and feisty Bryan held his ground and in the end unfortunately he bit off the line and swam away...we reeled in the line and as we did that the big Marlin jumped 3 times beside us it was like he was saying hahaha you didn't get me! So close yet so far...so it was to be a soup night. We went looking for a good snorkel spot and Bryan mentioned a wreck snorkel we did last year the Arimoroa, so we went over and dropped an anchor. Oh my it was amazing so many schools of fish life, it is so interesting how many fish love to live in these wrecks it's like they create their own amazing micro climate to thrive in. We saw hundreds of yellow tail snapper, a porcupine fish, french angle fish, barracuda, huge parrot fish it was a real delight.

From there we found a quite spot off of the Island to lay an anchor and enjoyed a nice night of left over appy's and soup it was a great afternoon and evening.
