Nassau, New Providence Island, Bahamas
Happy St. Patricks day everyone!

It was a great day sorry for the late posting . The day started early Bryan was up at 4:45 Am to head to Nassau and I heard the anchor being pulled up but fell back to sleep yahoo so I was up just after 6AM. The early morning cruising is so beautiful the stars are amazing and then of course you are witness to the amazing sunrise it is truly one of the most beautiful things.

It was an interesting morning in that I spent most of it down in the main living area of the boat, I made breakfast while we traveled and cleaned the boat had a shower etc. this is not the normal way we spend our cruising but I really enjoyed the slow pace of it all.

We arrived in good time at 10 AM gassed up and made our way to our slip. They are so busy here now way different from when we were here in January so they put us in an outside slip a short journey from the main marina office and beach. The docking was insane, this slip is meant for a Cat which are really wide and can handle the long reach pilings which you use to secure your boat, I could not lasso them too far away and couldn't use the hooker pole so the entire process took a very long time in really hot weather but in the end we were secured and feeling good about it all .

We made our way to the airport after that to pick up Cindy and Rory we arrived and didn't see them after researching flights etc. we realized that they must have been coming in on the WestJet flihgt oops on our part. From there we provisioned and stopped at the fresh fish market to pick up some red tailed snapper and lobster for dinner. As we were nearing the fish market we noticed a lot of dust ahead of us and realized it was a mini tornado right in front of us...OMG...I've never seen such a thing it was small but moved fast and picked up anything in it's path, it quickly moved towards the water and out of our path but we could see debris flying in the air long after it was past, quite a site to see. After a few stops we finally were back in the marina we did a quick tour of the boat then walked over to the marina for a drink at the beach bar...it sure had a different feel this time in our shorts and tank tops as apposed the coolness of January. The dinner was amazing we grilled the snapper and boiled up the lobster accompanied by salad and potatoes a really great first night on El Nido.

The crew are sleepy after their very very long travel day so we are all heading to bed. More adventures in store for tomorrow as we are heading the Highbourne Cay

Wow what a cool photo. Must have been scary though. Is the hot weather supposed to stay for the remainder of your trip?

It was a very weird thing to see and yes sort of scary to watch it come for us. The weather was full sunshine yesterday and the hottest day we have had. This morning it's cloudy but looks like it will burn off. We are in for some wind and yucky rain in a few days but you never know that might change.
