Hollywood Florida, Florida, United States
Good morning and happy last day of March to you.

We are on our last day in the US, I'm so looking forward to getting back home .

Today we are pulling the boat out and getting the trim tab fixed, while it's out we will wax the bottom of the boat. It will be interesting to see how stiff my arms will be from all the wax on / wax off of the day :-)

We will try and get it back in the water today if not we will launch it early in the morning.

Hello there and sorry for the delay in updating the blog. The repairs went very well and El Nido is all good to go for some great BC cruising. There is one thing on the port engine that we will likely get done a sealing issue but we can do that in BC. The pullout is a slow and precise event, the big fork lift / crane machine backs across a narrow slip opening and drops these big straps in the water, you then drive onto them the secure under the boat and gently lift her up. Once up they just drive it over to an open spot and let her down on some blocks and side holder clamp things ...interesting description I know but you can see the pictures :-) That whole process took 1 1/2 hours. Then the fun started cleaned and the mechanic started right away on the repairs. It was interesting for me to see how big El Nido looked out of the water and also have a good look at the props and trim tabs, Bryan's and Mikes fix of the problem worked very well holding the trim tab up off the prop.

The waxing is a 4 step process, cleaner on scrub and use a toothbrush as needed then rub that off, then wax on and wax off...yikes. Needless to say we didn't get it all done that will have to wait until BC, I can still feel my shoulders. :-)

The boat was back in the water at 3PM, the crew there helped us move the dingy off of the stern and onto the bow of the boat so she is all ready for the shipping.

From there we got her all docked back at loggerhead marina, grabbed our bags and headed for a hotel for the night. It was sad for me walking away from El Nido the last time I'll see her in the warm tropical waters. We enjoyed a great dinner at a restaurant on the beach, watched some tennis and crashed it was a long day.

A bitter sweet day but it's time for us to come home we miss everyone so much and we look forward to cruising the West Coast.
