LAST NIGHT IN ZURICH

Zurich, Zurich, Switzerland
Fine & sunny 14-23deg. A 40km ride around Lake Zurich today got our legs working again and helped get rid of the fuzzy head (jet-lag) feeling. It was cool enough for a wind vest at 7am but soon warmed up. Brekky at Starbucks (coffee & bacon/egg muffin + coffee $28) fueled us nicely. Although we are paying $175 a night for a room, that does not include breakfast so we go out for it. Lovely place Switzerland but be prepared to dig deep into your pocket if visiting.
Just as we were looking for a morning tea spot we came across a free banquet set up by the local bank at Horgen . They insisted that we join them for drinks (non-alcoholic) and food. I asked about opening a Bank account with them and the manager said "no problem, we have clients in Sydney, but your money must be declared"!!
As it was a Sat there were plenty of different markets around, one trash and treasure market we walked through was overflowing with very nice stuff from people's houses. The prices also reflected the quality of the Swiss goods on offer. Luckily we couldn't buy anything as weight management is more important than stuff.
Final adjustments on the bikes this afternoon and then it is "let the games begin" tomorrow with a 71km ride to Quarten. We are both looking forward to the tour proper.
