George Town, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands
We have been here manny times and have been to Hell, saw the turtles, lava rock formations, beaches and multitude of jewellery shops. So today we did the one thing we never did in Grand Cayman.

Today we slept in! I am falling into the Minna Trap. It was nice but were awakened by the public address announcement of the tenders being ready to ditch people onto the island. By the good grace of God we were able to fall asleep again. We awoke and got out of bed at almost 9:30 and realized it was too late to get to breakfast at the dining room, spa, or regular buffet. Not to worry, the late breakfast is on til 11:30. So up we went after cleaning up and had a lovely late breakfast of omelettes and oatmeal etc.

We got to the tenders after the line-ups and walked right on and landed on the island with nothing to do. We wandered off the Amin drag of shops a block into the island to find the area where all the government buildings are. It was a very pretty with lots of historical monuments and plaques nestled among many trees and bushes. There were many dedicated in 2003 on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the establishment of this island as a colony of England. One ceramic wall pictorially described the 500 years of history. Another black marble wall had the history described chronologically by year, including a plethora of firsts for this tiny set of islands. The area was so beautiful and protected from the hoards of shoppers.

Like a compass point to the magnetic north, so we were drawn to THE SHOPS. We did the old 1 2 3. Minna got some make-up and a bracelet. I was not totally forgotten though - I got a coke (the drink).

After some more wandering, we got the tender back to the ship to find out we missed all the lunch spots due to the late hour. But the salad bar was alive with activity into which we dove. Had a tasty feast with a glass of Chardonnay followed by specialty coffees and biscotti.

The rest of the afternoon was relax and read time til the walk/shvitz/prepare for cocktails and dinner.

Dinner and the show were great.

The late night show was from SinCity in Las Vegas. Lots of fun with the main performer, not so with the others, but that is the way it goes. Off colour humour, but not raunchy. We had fun.
