Jaipur, Rajasthan, IndiaAnother long day of driving, I have reached Jaipur, and am now 2200 kms from home. It was a tough day today. Way too many road works and diversions. This is normally a very good stretch, but because of the roadworks (they are six laning the entire length), it was tough. Just as I was about to enter Jaipur I spied a Café Coffee Day and cut across a very annoyed and honking truck to enter ! A stiff caffeine dose was much called for.
For you readers, these three days would have been very boring. Apologies. No photos and just a dull commentary on driving. But then, that's all I have been doing. 11-12 hrs on the road and nothing else. India is a large country. To get to the lovely parts, you have to go a long way.
Thus far, I have largely retraced the steps from my 2014 trip. But tomorrow, I go in a different direction.
Just to warm up for the main course, I flicked a picture off the Net that gives a clue as to where I am going !
No no, its just hyperbole as we in India are wont to do. It's by no means the most treacherous road and its come a long way since that board was put up. For that matter, for any non Indian, every Indian road could be called the most treacherous road in the world !!
But still it will not be a cakewalk and anyway, all roads have to be treated with great respect, especially this one. It'll be good fun though. I'll be very careful, I promise !!
Off to bed and ready for more serious driving tomorrow.
PS : The title is a play on a famous Hindi film song. I'm just punning a famous tourist spot in Jaipur - the Hawa Mahal

Hope you stopped by at LMB (Lakshmi Mithai Bandaar I think) hotel somewhere near Zaveri bazaar for breakfast. I recall their lassi was a meal by itself. Drive carefully in your next leg.
