We woke to beautiful views over the pool and ocean. There was a lot of tired faces. With Ramadan happening at the moment we could hear chanting for most of the night. Some of us slept better than others.
Nothing could dampen our enthusiasm for this place though
. After coffees, and a few people dipping into the pool, we enjoyed a great breakfast. The boys are off to golf - the Lombok Golf Kosaido course is next door. We met with Ida to discuss our menu for the day.
We girls had booked massages. We went to another little pavilion behind Kim and Linda's room where there are massage tables are set up. The massage was fabulous, so relaxing. We could hear the birds chirping, the wind rustling through the leaves, little fishing boats out on the ocean and the occasional cow mooing. All so conducive to chilling out. As we turned over we were asked if we wanted our stomach and chest massaged - I opted out. There was much fun and laughter over the boob massage later. While the massage girls were fantastic, one of them seems to have a reflux problem and has been named Burping Betty. I didn't notice as my girl refrained. But Linda and Judy both had an extra serenade!
While Jude and Rosie had their turn Linda and I reclined on a couple of the many sun lounges and read our books, marveling at the beauty of the property
. We saw a massive lizard making its way across the lawn and into the garden surrounding the pool. Linda was very excited.
The boys returned from a successful golf round feeling pleased with themselves. The golf course is ok, but they wouldn't want to plan a golf trip around it. they were the only ones on the course, so it is like having your own private course alongside your own private estate. After a dip in the pool we had lunch - mei goreng, spring rolls and satay sticks, followed by a fresh fruit platter, all delicious.
Siesta time and we spread around the property - by the pool, on the bale by the beach and onto the sun lounges in the garden. Life is so hard here at Anandita!
The bale sleepers were awoken by a hawker selling Lombok pearls. They ran away, though Mike, "jeweler to the stars", tells us they might good value so maybe a second look is required.
We had decided we would take the bikes and head down the beach to check out a hotel there. Gusti came with us and we ended up doing a bit of a tour, along the beach, through the golf course and back around through some other properties and onto "our" beach again. It was a lot of fun and the scenery was beautiful with views of the mountains and looking over to the Gilli Islands.
We had asked to have dinner by the pool and when we returned the staff were setting up decorations and fairy lights to make a magical setting. We showered and returned for another evening of fine food, fun, laughter, pool and dancing.
Just another day in paradise
