Today with fine weather we split up into our sightseeing pairs and headed for the MRT.
Dee and I had a short trip to Gardens By The Bay and began a lovely couple of hours amongst the beautiful gardens
. We did the skywalk which gave some great views across the bay and all the structures within the gardens.we then went up into the Supertree bar.The admission included a coffee. While we were there we heard from Ali and Lana. Their MRT trip was long and arduous. Neither enjoy public transport and this was one step too far for them.
Meanwhile, we braved the humidity and chilled in the serenity!
Unfortunately, the Flower Dome was closed. The Cloud Dome was open so in we went. It is such an amazing installation. There are so many plants and levels and you really do feel like you are in another world. You are cut off from the bustling city and immersed in a peaceful oasis. Very zen.
We made our way back into the heat and followed the path along the river, before crossing the bridge into the Marina Bay Sands complex.
Back into the shopping centre, we found a Du a Fung dumpling restaurant and had some lunch. The dumplings were good, maybe not as good as the ones Lana and I had at Sentosa.
I also stocked up on T and G tea for presents to take home
.
The girls had a great time at the zoo and thought it was really good. They headed home with blisters on Ali's feet and a story of a taxi driver with a hole in his neck. ?!
We headed up to Club M and had our lovely afternoon tea, before heading out for a bit more shopping and then finally a visit to Chinatown. At this time of the day Chinatown wad pretty quiet and not everyone was enthralled with the market items. I bought a couple of things and we left and caught a taxi back to the hotel.
Dee and I went back to the shops where she bought a bag for her daughter. We were served by a hilarious man who gave me tea drinking tips and had Maddie's bag gift wrapped. The service has been great in Singapore and the staff in the shops very friendly.
We went back to Kilo for dinner (it had been closed earlier in the week) and had a really nice meal. Afterwards we went yo the Carriage Bar in Cuppage Street which Ali had missed out on. We had our dessert cocktails and enjoyed our last night together.
