On the road to home

Doha, Qatar
A short train ride to the Zurich airport and through security where I once again had my carry-on checked. Last time it was my iPad, this time an ornament I bought in London. All good and we were on our way. Zurich airport is pretty good, lots of shops and places to buy chocolate. Which is what I did, need to use up those Swiss Francs, not much use elsewhere. A fast train, a short wait and we were flying home.
We had a 7 hour stopover in Doha, adding to the long traveling time . I was once again stopped going through security, I had magnetic bottle openers in my bag. I had bought these in London too, but forgot and denied they were there. Fortunately the screening guy couldn't be bothered and let me go. Doha is big, with more shops. We sat, we walked, we shopped, we had a cup of tea, we ate some food, we waited and we waited.
As we were waiting at our gate I noticed young Saige from home traveling on her own. She was exhausted too. We chatted and spent the last couple of hours with her.
On the plane, happy to be on the last leg. I slept quite a bit and soon we were touching down in Perth.
The airport was crowded. Three planes had come in at the same time and it was too much! We had a long wait to get through customs, hoping we wouldn't have to do the bag check. You can't be too keen to get through or they'll think you have something to hide, but we were anxious to get out of that line and I was a bit scared I wouldn't be able to stuff everything back in again if they opened my suitcase.
But we were lucky and out into the crowded waiting area to find our lovely Larissa!
Home to the hills, where Talia had the heater on, and we could smell the fresh air, after an amazing holiday.
