I had my little cooking princess success!

Rio de Janeiro, State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Tonight we will be 14 persons!

The chocomousse is well cooled in the fridge, I am relaxed. However Lisa and I got up early, and took the metro at 7 am to go to Niterói, there is a famous fish market there and we are to buy giant scampis.

To reach Niterói one can take a car and cross the kilometres long bridge, or, like we did, take the ferry! Ah, I like that! I had hoped an old rusty ferry but here these are modern catamarans with a turbine engine! Not so romantic, one cannot stand on the deck outside, but still, the windows are open and it is fun to go over the water!

We walked 15 minutes, bought the scampis, put them in a freezer bag and returned home. 4 hours in total on our way, but it was fun!

Lisa was to make a green papaye and mango salad, so good! I offered to make my red lentils dahl, it is so easy to make! I also made a little green salad with tomatoes and avocados, honestly that was for myself more than for the guests, because these barbecues are killing me! So much meat! So now I am to be more reasonable. Salad, dahl and chocomousse ;-D

The guests started to arrive around 6 pm, and it was a very nice evening! Colleagues of Drew, the young couple we met last Thursday, and a freshly retired couple that will leave Rio within some days. Long talks, lots of beer and wine and later on alcohol, and see, my Dahl had a nice success!

Who would have thought that, Isabelle is actually becoming a kitchen princess ;-)

As for me, spending the night outside with this nice hot weather, talking with very interesting people, it just could not be better. I love my life!
