Petrópolis, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
So here I am back in Petrópolis, with Lisza, and with a fully charged camera! Yes I know, I am not an "efficient" traveler, why go back at a place I know already? However, since Lisza did not know the place I liked the idea of being a tour guide, and knowing the hostel was a factor, too. Because Lisza, for the first time, did a "budget" trip à la Isabelle. No flight or taxi or five star hotel here ;-)

We only stayed three nights, but since I knew the place, were efficient .

The same evening we went to the "som e luz" show, sound and light, at the Imperial Museum. They had this amazing system of projecting a movie on a screen made by a fountain! Millions of water drops!

The next day we started with a tour in a horse carriage, just for the fun of it, and Lisza insisted on first going buy some apples and carrots for the horses.

We visited the Imperial museum, walked along the lovely streets, visited the city park I visited before, and this time had a nice dog that decided to show us the way! I heard it was the dog of the convent of Benedictines where I had listened to the mass last time.

With Lisza we went to listen to the Gregorian song of the nuns too, early morning, and then, after a good breakfast back at the hostel, visited the Santos Dumont house, and learned about this inventor, pioneer in ballons, airships and planes, that made the first actual flight with a plane through the Arc de Triomphe in Paris! He crashed a lot, too, and the last crash convinced him he was too old for all of that, and her retired in Petrópolis. Amazing little house full of "systems", like a hot water shower, a bed that is a table in the day, a night observatory on the roof...

We visited the city hall, former private house, that the city wanted to buy from the owner who refused... until the city told him they would organise every day a fish market with lots of horrible smells in front of his house... the owner finally sold his palace to the city ;-)

We spent three lovely days, and on sunday took the bus back. Lisza started to miss Drew. Or maybe the cats ;-)
