A throbbing thumb

Peschici, Puglia, Italy
Yesterday my thumb bothered me a bit, during the night it began to throb and by morning it was swollen. Went to the pharmacy got some cream and carried on. After a delicious breakfast, cappuccinos, cheese, prosciutto,,egg foccacia, various little pastries with my favorite condiment-nutella, we stayed for the cooking lesson. ANTONELLA was the teacher with about 10 students. I was on the disabled list-ICING my finger. Charles took over to learn how to make foccacia(knowing full well that we never make it) But he paid attention, took notes, and pretended that he understood the directions. IT WAS FUN, Italian,French,British all laughing together in a blend of different languages. At the end the Frenchmen produced a bottle of wine and we all drank.(for 3euros I will show you his Charles'notes.

We then stayed relaxing poolside, went into town just had pizza and watched the nightly passagiata.
But the throbbing thumb would return during the night with a vengeance.

Ciao Mar,
It all sounds wonderful aside from your thumb, you must have an infection. Perhaps you might need a doctore to take a look, I am very anxious for your return upon which Chef Charles will prepare focaccia for us. I can close my eyes and picture him pretending to be a good little student jotting down notes. Just glad you are enjoying. Take care of yourself, especially your thumb. All good in the states. Sending my love, Aurora
