Two Americans, Due Italiani

Bagnoregio, Lazio, Italy
Had a quick cappuccino and pastry and headed north to meet our wonderful friends Stefano and Sonia for the day. They picked the meeting place, we wondered as we drove through so many little towns why they had chosen Bagnoregio. We met them at the Piazza so happy to see them again. This town has a secret city, it is called The City That is Disappearing. This ancient city is perched on a cliff that is eroding little by little. It is a beautiful little city reached by an uphill climb, a narrow bridge suspended over a ravine, just spectacular, what a wonderful place to spend the afternoon with our young friends. Our banter is a mix of English and Italian and filled with laughter. We explored the town together, had a late much of pasta with truffles, yummy, which the area is well known for. The day just went by too quickly, we so hope they will visit us in Florida.

The crazy gps took us the scenic route home ....Had dinner at a local neighborhood restaurant , pizza with eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms and a plate of penne arrabiatta cost 14 euros, one tenth of last night's ridiculous bill- so it is a buona notte with no uphill climb thankfully at night's end.
