DTLA

Los Angeles, California, United States
After breakfast we headed down toVenice Beach, it hasn’t changed much in the forty years since I lived here,we walked the beach.  It was a bittersweet experience for me as I remembered my time here and what a unique experience it was living here on the West Coast.  We drove to my former residence on Catamaran Street on the Marina Peninsula just off the beach.  So many wonderful memories......                     At night we headed to the wedding venue, an unusual space, wonderful ceremony followed by an eight course meal.              Lobster salad, crab and asparagus soup, spicy shrimp, lobster and noodles, Peking duck, filet mignon, fried rice, all served family style.  Great band, Luanne’s dance with her eldest son frayed my heartstrings, as that experience is lost for me.  After hour party, but we opted to go to the roof top bar.                                                                            DTLA=Downtown Los Angeles, dark, dismal area....on the drive back from the wedding we passed tent after tent of homeless, a bleak ,depressing picture of this metropolitan area

That’s great you were able to visit your old apartment. Was it the same as you remember or did a lot change in the area?
