Looking for Pen Pals

Maui, Hawaii, United States
We all woke up at crazy times, each couple in their own time zone. Breakfast was waterside at the Pioneer Inn, right next to the famous Banyan tree that centers the town.  Sweet bread French toast, with coconut syrup, delicious omelets with pineapple.  We then walked, shopped and meandered to our Atlantis Sub adventure, descending 128 feet, spectacular views of sealife and a sunken cargo ship from a seven million dollar underwater craft.
39 years ago Charles and I came to Lahina, I was a schoolteacher and noticed barefoot kids heading into a school.  I went in and arranged for a second grade class there to be pen pals with my class, the students exchanged many letters.  Imagine If I encounter one of these kids, now adults....
Luau is a tourist must. The feast at LeLe featured a six course meals highlighting Hawaiian ancestry.  The drinks were unlimited, the dancing superb.  All dwarfed by the phenomenal vista, cementing my belief that Hawaii is one of the most beautiful places on the planet.
As an aside our traveling companions have morphed into a radial political activist who energizes us each morning with his facebook entries and a fashionista who wears avante garde apparel but today broke her cardinal rule of one outfit a day.

What was it like being in the submarine? Were you completely submerged?

The submarine went down to 128 feet and we were able to see the ocean floor, the boat wreck and marine life
