Morning begins with a dip in the infinity pool. Afternoon with Michael, his co-worker Joy, a native, will be our personal guide today. She lives in this quaint section east of the city core, it is filled with small cafes, interesting boutiques, tiny stores and interspersed with colorful murals. I love the unique homes, a blue/pink one is my favorite. First food item is banana leaf in a triangle shape , dumplings filled with different meats and sweet/sour pork buns. The area is Malaysian, Chinese and Indian. Joy is a combination of the first two and has lived here all her life. She is petite, adorable and explains everything to us in perfect (London accented) English. We then head to a typical Chinese local restaurant. The visual appeal of the dishes is not that appetising but they are delicious. Ribs in a soup and rice noodles. FYI- (we have almost mastered chopsticks)
Charles loves the bikes here and learns that to drive one there is a difficult set of requirements that has to be repeated annually.
Next is dessert, they are gelatinous sweets- and coconut cookies. Michael buys an assortment to bring home. Then we stop for a tradiitonal noodle and fish dish. (I pass on that one). Finale is the most delicious ice cream- strawberry basil and raspberry hibiscus- so so good. Ironically, the store is called Birds of Paradise.
We end our tour at Sri Senpaga Vinayagar Temple built 18 C. And taxi back.
At night the men eat at the Hawkers Market- Chinese. I have no room for anything else.

What beautiful memories you will have of all the places you have gone. You are both so brave. I find it scarry to go to Walmart and back home. It is adventuresome for me to go to a nursery to buy more plants. Our Garden Club adventures every month have been exciting. We get to see the members gardens. I hope you can join us when you return home. Miss You!
