Departing from Trapani , the end of which juts out like a shark fin point between two seas, Tyrrhenian and Mediterranean. Sparkling blue waters. A perfect sunny day - we journey to Favignana-
This island transformed from a prison > a tuna canning enterprise > finally to a resort town. Shaped like a tilted butterfly, the port is its center. On either side of the town’s core are rocky beaches and caves. From the ship we jump into the cool, refreshing sea. After which pasta trapanese is served on board with delicious melon for dessert. We then head to Levanzo, a smaller island- a triangular , pointed rock shoots upward to indicate its location. We savour the sunset on our return- it has been a long, salty day
At night we try a small plates Osteria- caponata( our favorite) , octopus, and delicious fresh tuna with carmelized red onions. And of course Dulce Lindt gelato as a finish
FYI. The Japanese fished for tuna, depleting the source, so much so that the tuna fishing industry here no longer exists

I remember the ocean in Sicily being so blue and clear. It's amazing that more people don't visit Sicily.
