Garden breakfast- objective today Ragusa. Once a rock carved city- destroyed by catastrophic earthquake 1693. Rebuilt in Baroque style. We can’t locate parking and the gps directs us upward into the ever -narrowing streets, we finally succeed to get back down…. Frustrating!
We park and head upward again by foot- a perpetual climb. We vote to stay in the lower “ilba” section, skipping the wandering staircase of 248 steps to the upper. Pizza lunch at Moro. Then the scramble downward.

Bad Luck- exiting the lot our back tire hits the stoned pathway- a jagged protruding rock pierces the tire. Good luck- we are near a gas station. Bad luck- it cannot be fixed. Bad luck- there is no spare. Good luck- minutes away is a tire shop. Bad luck- it is closed for the afternoon. Good luck- a worker arrives early and lets us in. Bad luck- we have to purchase a tire. Good luck- they put it on right away. Good luck- this detour only took an 1 1/2 hours , road assistance would have been next day!
We eat at L’Arci- un Osteria. Locals gather- all male patrons. Boys night out.- Homemade pastas- mine with pistachio pesto, his with meat sauce. Sausage and pork dish for seconds. Town is lively
To deflect bad luck. You reply “Crespi il lupo! May the wolf die

Sorry to hear about the tire problem but only an hour and a half disruption was a blessing. I think it’s time for some relaxation, find a nice piazza with a bar and have a glass of wine or a spritz with house snacks and people watch.

May the tire be the worst thing to happen and followed by only good things ahead! Photos of the town are beautiful! Keep enjoying your adventure. xoxo

I thought with all the steps you’d tire out, seems like it’s the car that’s doing that…glad you got it sorted quickly

I bet the tire fiasco was especially tough for Dad. He clearly couldn't employ his signature "confuse and abandon" technique on the locals when he couldn't get away.

I love how you told the story ofd the tire, that was hilarious. With so many stairs, you should both be in great shape when you get home.
