LITTLE HOMES SET ON LITTLE ISLANDS

Stockholm, Stockholm, Sweden
Entering Stockholm you are flanked on both sides with a multitude of pine tree covered islands and their little summer cottages. So quaint. It seems the city's residents escape town and the tourists in summer.
We walked the 1 1/2 miles into town, Galma Stan, the old medieval center . Went by the huge Royal Palace set on the water, past churches, down little alleys, past a rune stone dated 1100, tiny streets, the other islands are more modern, it is an architectural portfolio, 14 islands, 57 bridges. We decided to locate out hotel(we fly back here Saturday.) Staying on an anchored ship hotel in the Old Town, a great location.
Our ship departed at 4, we watched it sail out from the upper deck, beautiful scenery, all protected by a huge fort at its entrance. It takes hours to reach open sea.
Night- went to a fun show, constant laughter as couples did ridiculous activities, we especially liked one with frozen lemons. We will introduce it at our get together in Florida- be ready.
The next show featured a musical entertainer who played numerous instruments.
Then off to the club, the White Hot Party, Charles even danced Gangnam style- what a great ending to a busy day.
(we did start the day with a moment of silence followed by a short but emotional statement by the captain that had us teary-eyed)
