Budgie Smuggler

Céret, Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Each day we become quite hysterical at the Brit's use of the English language. Today's title illustrates it quite well. Annie and Mick and friends went to a French pool. The men were not allowed to swim in their trunks. They had to wear a thin speedo, this they refer to as a budgie smuggler, you figure it out , a budgie is a parakeet and what the speedo is smuggling is up to your imagination.(they never did go into the pool)

After breakfast today we headed to the coast, Collouire,a beautiful town on the big blue sea . We took a tourist train and learned that the mountain sculptors here erected walls on the cliffs for the vineyards in B.C. , enough stone to match the Great Wall of China. Their motto here is to enjoy wine without any moderation (we are adopting that slogan). It is referred to as the Ruby Coast because of all the red grapes grown for wine.

We ate at a seaside restaurant, Charles and Annie had a potful of mussels, we all had delicious salmon entrees in an unusual but so tasty sauce. We then walked a bit, Annie "took a paddle"which means a walk in the water. But she did not have her cossie(bathing suit). The place was "chock a block"(crowded) as it was sunny and warm. We drove along the coast, one view more beautiful than the next with the coast of Spain on the horizon.
At night we just had some local cheeses, sliced meats ,French bread(the best) and local rose wine. We then walked into town listened to a local band, the main excitement was a rugby match shown at every bar.

Tomorrow we head to Provence and the B and B has a swimming pool, will keep you posted if the guys decide to go in..........

I can't believe how beautiful Spain is. Are their beaches or is it too rocky?

These beaches are in France not as sandy as ours, but small rocks mixed in. Water is the bluest blue
