Sorrento, Campania, Italy
A delicious breakfast ,due cappuccino , pastries, egg and prosciutto sandwich , yogurt, fruit all accompanied by hilarious comments from Stephen, begin our day. Overcast with peeks from the sun. We head to the station ,board an overcrowded bus to Positano, SRO. We wait (with the bus running) while the driver has his cigarette and espresso . The Italians operate on their own timetable not the one posted by the company)

Ride is literally breath -taking, as you wind close to the edge over curving roads for forty minutes . The views are spectacular if you can manage to control your fear and keep your eyes open. We reach Positano at its highest point and make our way down. Stopping to shop, look at the exclusive Hotel Sirenuse , purchase t shirts and lunch at La Zargara perched on the hillside.

We head down to the beach stopping in little art galleries tucked away on the descending street , at the Spiagga Grande, we encounter the narrow seaside walkway to the Torre , the ancient look out point for pirates . Then up we go, The clouds darken above us as we ascend to the top(we have shelved a ferry ride back as the seas are too rough.) The rain gets more intense the higher we climb. Forget the bus ,Stephen waves down an empty van and asks the driver how much to Sorrento,80 euros, a bargain, as the Italians have no shelter available for their passengers and no one knows when the bus will arrive. A windfall for the guy as he was just heading home........

M&M head to town and we meet them at a cafe. Buffalito for dinner, they enjoy the buffalo mozzarella and burrata with grilled veggies. We all have pasta again and of course vino. After dinner the wonderful Italian tradition of "Fare una passeggiata" taking a walk , the Via is pedestrian friendly ,the whole town is out. We stroll, then drag ourselves back to the B&B, M&M have opted to try an all the time happy hour on the main drag, Will they find their way back????

Positano was definitely my favorite city of the trip and the most beautiful.
