Naples, Campania, Italy
Last night had a wonderful second dinner at il Leone Rosso, so delicious, orecchiette with sausage and broccoli, homemade spaghetti con pomodoro and mozzarella. Veal/ salad for CJC , wine of course and a so delicious chocolate cake, the owner Tony came over with Lemoncello and homemade frozen chocolate liqueur. When the rain stopped ,headed back

Woke up to a sunny day, breakfasted, went down to the sea for a last look , said our goodbyes to all our friends at il Roseto and hope we will return someday . Our driver , to the airport for M&M and to our B&B talked the entire way describing each town to us, playing Italian music, talking Italian & English. He then dropped us off at Piazza Dante in the heart of Naples' historic centre. Our B &B is in a palazzo owned by a royal family in the 15 century.

We had pizza , the best and headed down to the sea. Along the way we saw a wedding, listened to a group of men singing, watched tango dancers, a puppet show and met a group of art students sketching ,from Ohio state who are spending a term in Rome. This city is ancient, crumbling, graffiti layered but with vibrant, bohemian mix .

Dinner at Osteria de Carmela recommended by our friends John & Judy, tiny, neighborhood place, where we are lucky enough to snare the last table- food is great but they are out of stuffed Fiori de zucchini as there is a set menu for 30 and that is on their plates not ours. Eggplant appetizer, pasta with zucchini and with Congolese.A quick walk and the gigantic doors of the palazzo open and then close behind us, signaling the ending to this great adventure

Many thanks to all of you who have journeyed with us, I hope you enjoyed the ride ...Grazie Mille
