Continental breakfast, great conversations with other guests.(my favorite aspect of a b & b) the owner has a truffle hunting dog( the title) and goes hunting with him further north. He looks like a medium sized poodle
We take a bus to downtown, $1 and get on a ferry to Bainbridge Island. Our views are still compromised as the haze from the fires is ever present ,but still a nice excursion. The island is tree covered with lots of fishing boats, small shops and wineries We stop in the market for a quick lunch and meet Jake again. We meander with the tour , downtown ,Pioneer Square Jake gives us a history of the area, info on the natives and Chief Seattle , namesake of the city His enthusiasm is contagious, we are liking the city a bit more.
We go to a extended happy hour(3-7) at Ivars an established restaurant on the water. Great local wine called Hands 14, chowder, fish tacos, all half price.
Onward now to the Museum of Flight.... first Thursday nights are free. Fantastic exhibition of aircraft. We go on a 787, a new massive aircraft, a flight on it is added to the bucket list We Lyft it back, exhausted but stop at Old School Custard for a delicious sundae..... we literally crawl into bed, it's been a long day
Observations: city population is young, millennials who love to color sections of their hair, embellish large section of their bodies with tattoos, purchase clothes from thrift stores and all in all give the word WEIRD new meaning
Also manhole covers here have maps to help you get home after happy hours

Bainbridge Island sounds perfect. Your description of the locals gives new meaning to the word "weird." You and Charles are really packing a lot into each day..... that's the way to do it! Every day is a new adventure...

I enjoyed your descriptions of the city, people, food and local color. Your updates are keeping me away from watching the beach cam on Hollywood. Enjoy!!
