Cloud Sweepers

Seattle, Washington, United States
Bye bye Stumptown. Name given to Portland by the numerous Oregon Trail Blazers who came such a long way  thinking they'd find a great city at trails end.  Instead it was just land covered with stumps of all the felled trees
Chef cooked  eggs over mushroom toast with dungress crab, coffee, berries ,fresh tangerine juice.  Delicious.
Our tech friends gave us some tips on the route south. We head out, traveling on 5, which passes lots of farms, sheep grazing happily unaware of the "fresh lamb "signs posted. We pass Butcherknife Creek, signs for raw goats milk, Almost Heaven resort and Mountain Men trailer park.
We turn onto 101, the Redwood Highway , these trees are just breath taking as they soar over the road and carpet the mountainsides. We stop at Jedediah Smith Redwood Park. We follow the Stout Grove Trail on foot and marvel at these colossal coastal giants that reach 300-500 feet into the sky. They sweep the clouds.  It is a spiritual moment in nature we won't forget , reminding us  how insignificant we are when surrounded by the tallest trees in the world.
We head to our beachfront motel in Crescent City, we stroll the beach edged with huge rocks, watch the sunset and then head out to a local seafood cafe for dinner

Seeing the redwoods is definitely on my bucket list. You both look so little next to those massive trees. Awesome! Love your breakfast menus too. Yum!!!
