In digging through old passports I found this, I believe to be Elenka's and my first trip to Costa Rica. We stayed at a hotel at Flamingo Beach. There were rock, tide pools that we would sit in when the tide was out. There was also a small casino just down the street. One day we rented a car; when driving at a very high speed we heard a blast like a gun-shot. One of the tires had blown. The rental place tried to blame me, but the tires were horribly worn and I fought it through my Visa Gold card and eventually did not pay.
